高适


　　尚有绨袍赠，应怜范叔寒。
　　不知天下士，犹作布衣看。

【白话文】 像须贾这样的小人尚且有赠送绨袍的举动，
就更应该同情范雎的贫寒了。
现在的人不知道像范雎这样的天下治世贤才，
把他当成普通人看待。

【注释】 （1）前两句：绨袍，粗丝绵之袍。范叔，指战国时魏国人范雎。这两句讲述了一个典故：魏国派须贾、范雎出使齐国，齐王重范雎之才，赐给他银子，而没有给须贾。须贾诬范雎暗通齐国，范雎被迫害而逃往秦国，改名张禄，拜为丞相，使秦国称霸天下。后来，须贾出使秦国，范雎穿着破衣拜见须贾。须贾看他可怜，送给他绨袍。当须贾知范雎是秦国丞相时，大惊失色。而范雎念他赠绨袍一事，免其一死。
（2）天下士：天下豪杰之士。
（3）布衣：老百姓。
