嶺外音書絶，經鼕復立春。
近鄉情更怯，不敢問來人。

【白話文】 久在嶺南居住，家乡音訊全無；經歷一個寒鼕，又到立春時候。
距離家乡越近，心中越發不安；遇人不敢相問，唯恐消息不祥。
【注釋】 １、嶺外：大庾嶺之外，就是廣東。
【賞析】 這是久離家乡而返歸途中所寫的抒情詩。詩意在寫思鄉情切，但卻正意反說。寫愈近家乡，愈不敢問及家乡消息，擔心聽到環的消息，而傷了好的願望。語極淺近，意頗深邃；描摹心理，熨貼入微；不事造作，自然至美。
