冉闵（卒于西元352年6月1日），汉族，有文献记为“染闵”，字永曾，小字棘奴，魏郡内黄人(今河南内黄西北)，是中国五胡十六国时期冉魏的君主。民族英雄，中华文明之保护者。冉为今人所广为人知的是屠杀胡人的命令，即杀胡令。他是拯救了汉族的抗胡英雄，以勇猛著称，被列为中国古代十大勇将之一
英雄事迹
公元309年，乞活军活动在黎阳的一支在和匈奴前赵帝国的战斗中被打败，冉闵的祖父冉隆和叔父冉襄等亲人都殁于此役。冉氏家族留下一个11岁的少年——冉瞻（按现在的标准还是一个孩子），冉瞻带领所部乞活余部继续与胡人英勇战斗。
公元310年，石勒（此时是前赵的大将）攻打河内，勒见两军阵前的一少年英勇非凡，长而勇悍，精于骑射，阵前临矢石不顾。勒赞曰：“此儿壮健可嘉！”冉瞻寡不敌众，被俘。石勒徙冉瞻及其部众于兰陵郡。327年，冉瞻在和匈奴前赵的战斗中被斩于阵前。冉瞻之子就是后来的冉闵。冉闵除继承了父亲的勇猛外，还善于使用智谋。
公元316年，司马氏篡夺曹魏建立的西晋王朝在经历八王之乱后，国力损失惨重，虚弱不堪，最终被匈奴人灭国，北方和西域各胡族势力趁天下大乱之机入侵中原。
公元338年，少年冉闵首次参加战争，在昌黎大战，史载后赵诸军尽溃，唯游击将军冉闵三千汉军独全。此战后，冉闵成名，被石虎提拔为北中郎将，参加了防卫后赵北方边界的战事（当时北方燕代之地，后赵境内有内迁的丁零，乌桓，夫余等各族各部，时常有叛乱，外有慕容鲜卑常发兵寇边）。冉闵在防卫后赵北方边界的战斗中屡立奇功（其间也有两次调到外地作战）。
迫于冉闵和诸路中原汉军的武力威胁,氐,羌,匈奴,鲜卑数百万人退出中土，各自返还陇西或河套草原一带原来生活的地方,一些胡族甚至从此迁回万里之外的中亚老家。在返迁的路上这些不同民族的胡族相互进攻对方,掠杀对方,抢夺粮食，甚至人肉相食,能成功回去的人十个人中仅有二三人。诸胡乱中华时，北方汉人被屠杀的只留下四五百万，最主要的凶手是匈奴人和源于东欧高加索山到黑海草原地区的白种羯族。（这个民族有拿人头祭祀的习惯）冉闵灭羯赵，歼灭三十多万羯族与匈奴为主的胡兵。冉闵后来在邺城对羯族屠杀了二十几万，加上全国各省各地的复仇屠杀。羯族与匈奴在血腥的民族报复中被基本杀绝。
公元350年冉闵率军于凌水河畔大败鲜卑燕军二十万。擒斩燕军七万余人，斩首上将以上三十余名，焚烧粮台二十万斛，夺鲜卑北燕郡县大小二十八城，冉闵威震中原。后冉闵推翻羯赵，称帝建国，年号永兴，国号大魏，史称冉魏。挟胜利之势，突袭各路胡军。先后经历六场恶战。
（1）首战以汉骑三千夜破匈奴营，杀敌将数名，逐百里，斩匈奴首三万；
（2）再战以五千汉骑大破胡骑七万；
（3）三战以汉军七万加四万乞活义军破众胡联军三十余万；
（4）四战先败后胜以万人斩胡首四万；
（5）五战以汉军六万几乎全歼羌氐联军十余万；
（6）六战又有以步卒不足万人敌慕容鲜卑铁骑十四万不退反进竟十战十捷！
几番大战，打出了汉家铁骑的威风，各地汉人纷纷起义响应，史载“无月不战，互为相攻”。一举光复山东、山西、河南、河北、陕西、甘肃、宁夏。匈奴、羌、氐等胡人势力被迫撤出中原。石遵、石鉴、石琨、石宠、石蟠被灭三族，羯族的主力军被完全消灭。至此，石虎的十四个儿子，两个被他自己处死；六个自相残杀而死；五个被冉闵灭族，一个投靠东晋，被斩于街市；全部死于非命。石虎一生造孽无数，终于在子孙身上得到了报应。
公元352年。冉闵将城中的军粮分给百姓。独自带领1万人马（步兵为主）去争粮。结果被鲜卑的 14万大军（骑兵。还有数万后续部队）包围。在拼死突围的冉魏士兵掩护下，冉闵连杀三百余人，终于杀出包围圈（战斗经过本文从略），但那匹和冉闵一样勇猛的朱龙战马却因过度疲劳而倒下，冉闵被俘，他的手下仍然在机械地和敌人拼命，掩护随军的其他重要官员撤离战场，一直杀到最后一人……慕容恪捉到冉闵后，献与国主慕容俊，慕容俊嘲笑冉闵：“你只有奴仆下人的才能，凭什么敢妄自称天子？”冉闵怒道：“天下大乱，尔曹夷狄禽兽之类尤称帝，况我中土英雄呼！”慕容俊大怒，令人鞭之三百，然后送至龙城，斩于遏陉山。冉闵死后，山左右七里草木悉枯，蝗虫大起，从五月到十二月，天上滴雨未降。慕容俊大惊，派人前往祭祀，追封冉闵为武悼天王，当日天降大雪，过人双膝。(正史记载，决非杜撰)作者语：冉闵壮志未酬，天地为之大恸，可惜上天既然体恤冉闵的用心，为何不干脆赐他胜利的结局。为何还要让他的冤屈千年不得昭雪，受尽同胞的谩骂。苍天不公，造物不仁，不知何时冉闵的英雄事迹才能在世间广为流传。
冉闵就义后，冉魏国的臣子绝望至极，悲天呼地。纷纷守节自缢，少部分逃往东晋，无一投降前燕者。冉魏几十万汉人不甘受辱，纷纷逃向江南，投奔东晋。东晋军未能及时接应，使得几十万百姓中途受到截击，死亡殆尽。晋将自杀谢罪。
由于冉闵的王朝时间很短。大臣多自杀殉国。没有人给冉闵写书立传。后来统治北方的北魏（鲜卑王朝）的史学家把冉闵大骂一顿。在史书上没有人为冉闵正义直言。而后代又缺乏资料，只能根据以前遗留的资料来整理。某些太监史学家片面强调冉闵的杀胡。而不说明冉闵杀胡的原因。想想冉闵一声令下，中原百姓和入塞胡寇无月不战，日日相攻。可见冉闵当时的政策是顺应民意的，是代表最广大人民的意愿。并不是冉闵有心挑拨。而是当时的民族矛盾不可调和。那些穿着兽皮。吃着生肉的野蛮部落。哪里懂得礼仪廉耻，生命的价值。入侵印度的蛮族部落把创造古代印度文明的当地人当作奴隶一样的驱使。印度的种姓制度大家都知道吧。21世纪的今天还生活在印度社会低层的贱民。就是那些几千年前被征服的印度本国人。冉闵天王昭告天下，邀四海豪杰奋起杀胡。屠胡令所到之地。中华子民纷纷响应。正因为冉闵，我族方才免于重蹈古印度人之悲剧。
冉闵被胡人收做义子，在南朝的史书从来没有记载。现在我们只能通过被人篡改的史料来一窥这位1700年前英雄的丰功伟绩。冉闵用自己的所作所为。拯救了将被欧罗巴人种同化的中华文明。为我们这些后代夺回了生存空间。冉闵的武功决不亚于岳飞！岳飞其实是想成为第二个冉闵。冉闵的功绩与日月同辉！冉闵是英雄，关中80万汉族百姓冒着生命危险千里跋涉来投奔冉闵就是明证。
生平事迹
永和五年（349年），石虎死，石世即位。同年五月，石遵得到冉闵支持发动政变推翻石世。起初，石遵答应立冉闵为皇储，後来却立石衍为皇储，引发冉闵的不满。孟准等人劝石遵诛杀冉闵，石遵便与其兄石鉴及母亲郑樱桃商议，郑樱桃认为石遵之所以能够即位，冉闵有功劳，不可杀他。会後，石鉴将此事密报冉闵。冉闵遂挟持汉族将领李农和王基推翻并诛杀郑樱桃与石遵，改立石鉴。冉闵被任命为大将军，并掌控大权。石鉴即位后,胡汉两族间的矛盾逐步走向激化,胡人不断掀起暴动和兵变.350年，石鉴欲杀冉闵，事败後反为冉闵和李农所杀。冉闵杀石鉴之前，发布了“ 杀胡令”和“讨胡檄文”致书各地，从面引爆了汉族人民积压了近半个世纪的国仇家恨,点燃了汉族人民的复仇反抗怒火,冉闵宣布：“内外六夷，敢称兵杖者斩之！”于是汉族人民对胡人进行空前规模的民族复仇，无贵贱男女少长皆斩之，史载当时的全国各地方的汉族人民“所在承闵书诛之”，于时高鼻多须，头发略有发黄者亦被杀，前后约有二十万人被杀。其後建立魏国，依然建都于邺城（今河北邯郸市临漳县城西南20公里邺城遗址，见图1），改年号永兴。冉闵遣使临江告东晋：“胡逆乱中原，今已诛之。若能共讨者，可遣军来也。”由于冉闵已称帝，无法得到东晋支持。
冉闵的残酷屠杀引来胡人猛烈的反扑。350年，石虎庶子石祗于襄国（今河北邢台）称帝，胡人将官纷纷响应。350年1月,后赵汝阴王琨及张举、王朗率军七万伐冉闵，冉闵率骑兵千馀与战于城北,大破之,石琨等大败而去;350年6月,六月，石琨又率大军10万进据邯郸，后赵镇南将军刘国自繁阳会之,冉闵又率军大破之，死者万馀人,刘国还繁阳;八月,后赵张贺度、段勤、刘国、靳豚集中十余万主力于昌城，将攻冉闵,冉闵率军反击，战于苍亭，后赵军全军覆灭;351年，石祗联合鲜卑、羌人夹击冉闵，冉闵因屡胜而轻敌,导致大败，部众大量死亡。此战后，冉闵所据的徐州、豫州、兖州和洛阳归降东晋，东晋势力于是重返中国北方。冉闵继续与胡人攻战。期间冉闵诛杀齐王李农及其三子。351年，石祗部下刘显在阳平之战中为冉闵击败,被迫投降冉闵，并回军杀死石祗，从而后赵灭亡。不久刘显又背叛冉闵,自称皇帝.352年正月,冉闵率领8000骑兵攻克襄国,杀刘显, 至此后赵残余势力基本被消灭.但前燕军攻势日急,前燕慕容恪率10万骑兵进攻冉闵,追至廉台（今河北石家庄东部无极县东北）,起初冉闵出击，十战十胜。后来陷入鲜卑骑兵重围，冉闵突围东走二十馀里，坐骑朱龙突然死亡。冉闵於是被赶上的前燕兵所俘。前燕大军随即进围邺城，邺城守军艰苦抵抗鲜卑军达100多天，粮尽援绝，人相食，八月邺城陷落，冉魏灭亡。冉闵被送於蓟城（今天津市蓟县），前燕国王慕容俊企图乘机嘲笑冉闵，道：“你只有奴仆下人的才能，凭什么敢妄自称天子？”冉闵大怒道：“天下大乱，尔曹夷狄禽兽之类犹称帝，况我中土英雄，何为不得称帝邪！”，慕容俊恼羞成怒，令人鞭之三百，“斩于遏陉山，山左右七里草木悉枯，蝗虫大起，五月不雨，至于十二月。俊遣使者祀之，谥曰武悼天王，其日大雪。是岁永和八年也。”（肆行劳祀曰”悼“；年中早夭曰“悼”；恐惧从处曰“悼”，这里的“悼”，意指“年中早夭”，表示同情、悼念，“武”为美谥，意为武勇过人，演义小说《五胡录》则以为“武悼”是慕容氏对冉闵的恶谥，误也，因为“肆行劳祀”是指穷奢极欲、荒淫无耻，而冉闵即便穷兵黩武，也应与“肆行劳祀”无关）。
著名史学家范文澜《中国通史》对慕容隽致祭赠諡予冉闵一事的评价为：“他的野蛮行动反映着汉族对羯族匈奴族野蛮统治的反抗情绪，所以他的被杀，获得汉族人的同情。慕容隽致祭赠諡，正是害怕汉族人给予冉闵的同情心。”（范文澜《中国通史》）
当代权威历史著作《魏晋南北朝史纲》一书也对冉闵作出过相对中肯的评价：“至于冉闵以区区之力驰骋中原，而东晋又只作壁上观，是以亡不旋踵，只成为历史上的悲剧而已”。
冉闵的家族背景
冉闵可不是一个没有来头的莽撞武夫，他是有着显赫的家族背景的。相信大家还记得在初中的
时候的语文课本中，有两篇关于孔子和论语的文章《子路,曾皙,冉有,公西华侍坐》、《季氏将伐颛臾》中提到过的冉求（即冉有），冉闵正是这个冉氏家族的后裔。事实上，孔子的弟子中有五个冉氏家族的成员，分别是，冉求、冉雍、冉耕、冉猛、冉儒。其中冉求、冉雍、冉耕更是位列孔门十二哲，因此现今很多冉氏祠堂的对联就是“一门五子从圣，十哲三贤列科”，其中冉雍又尤为受到孔子的赞赏，曾经称赞道：“雍也，可使南面”，而冉闵就是冉雍的直系子孙。现今南方冉姓大多数都是冉闵的后人。
冉闵出生书香门第，儒传世家，那么他又是怎么转变为一个征战沙场的武将的呢？这是与当时的历史条件和时代背景密切相关的。冉闵所处的年代是五胡乱华时期，这个时期是汉民族历史上最为黑暗，最为痛苦的时期。五胡乱华时期，原来居于中华大地周围的各少数民族大举侵入中华大地，大肆的对汉人进行着屠杀和奴役，北方汉人数量锐减，只剩下几百万，而入侵的胡人人数却达到了五六百万，这是一个多么可怕的局面啊，纵观中国历史汉族生存从来从来没受过如此的严重的威胁，即使是元清时期也比好这个时期要得多。大量汉人无奈只有南逃，晋王朝也只得往着南方迁都，西晋遂灭。所谓国家兴亡匹夫有责，在这种严峻的历史条件下，容不得人们去读书做文章了，北方汉人只有三种命运，要么被杀掉或是奴役，要么做汉奸，要么就反抗。冉闵选择了第三种。后人有诗赞曰：“五胡铁蹄踏北国，弱汉无奈唯乞活。棘奴忍辱兴汉事，万代功绩话蹉跎！”
世无冉闵，中华文明已从地球消失？
很少有一个历史人物像冉闵这样充满争议，以至于主流教科书因为无法定论而不得不将他忽略。在那个扭曲的时代，他的行为也可以说是扭曲的。一千多年后的今天，我们该如何评价他？捧杀还是棒杀？目前我所找到最早持这一观点的是清未学者荆驼写的“冉闵传”，称冉闵“振古铄今，扭转乾坤”（见《江苏》，11/12期合刊本(光绪30年4月1日)，页89，104-5）。据晋朝时期的“晋·江统〈徙戎论〉”，五胡乱华之前，北方迁入中原的胡人已高达数百万，很多地方超过了当地汉人人口。
五胡乱华时，又有大量的西北诸胡和北方的鲜卑迁入中原。《晋纪》《晋书》记录当时永嘉丧乱，中原士族十不存一。
唐编《晋书》卷65《王导传》据说：“洛京倾覆，中州士女避乱江左者十六七。”。这就是说，南迁的人超过了半数。留在北方的人命运很悲惨。匈奴、羯等族军队所到之处，屠城掠地千里。（如《晋阳秋》残本所称的“胡皇”石勒一次就屠杀百姓数十万，诸晋史中也有大量屠杀记录,屠杀在数个州开展）石勒其侄石虎更加残暴。他跟一条毒蛇一样，脑筋里只有三件事，一是淫欲，二是杀戮，三是享乐。
石虎发男女16万，运土筑华林苑及长墙于邺北。时逢暴雨，漳水水涨，死者数万人；他已有多处宫殿，还不满足，又驱汉丁40余万营洛阳、长安二宫，造成尸积原野；修林苑甲兵，50万人造甲，17万人造船，死亡超过三分之二；夺汉女5万入后宫肆意变态凌杀污辱之行，其间由于负妇义夫的反抗，死者不计其数；从长安--到洛阳--再到邺城，成汉的使者见到沿途树上挂满上吊自杀的人，城墙上挂满汉人人头，尸骨则被做成“尸观”，恐吓世人，数万反抗将士的尸体被弃之荒野喂兽；血腥屠杀和残酷的民族压迫，北方汉人锐减至六七百万，造成赤地千里的景象；人口的大量减少，土地的大量荒芜，伴之虎狼等野兽成群出现繁殖。
石虎将邯郸（一说临漳以南）以南中原地区，数万平方公里土地划为其狩猎围场，创全人类有史以来的吉尼斯世界记录。规定汉人不得向野兽投一块石子者，否则即是“犯兽”，将处以死罪，被杀或被野兽吃掉的人不计其数，汉人的地位竟连野兽都不如。住在“富丽堂皇”宫殿里的石虎，竟笑曰：“我家父子如是，自非天崩地陷，当复何愁？……当时“北地沧凉，衣冠南迁，胡狄遍地,汉家子弟几欲被数屠殆尽。”
残留的汉人，为了免于屠杀，纷纷筑堡自卫，与胡人对抗。但这并不意味着一些人认为的“坞堡遍地都是”，当时的北方壁堡也要相隔百里才有一个。按鸣沙屈出土的《鸣沙石室佚书》记录：“永嘉大乱，中夏残荒。保壁大帅数不盈四十。多者不过四五千家，少者千家五百家。”
由此推测当时北方的汉人最多不过400万左右。大屠杀了多年之后，石勒估计也杀累了，听取了谋士要他建立“根据地”做“皇帝”的建议，改变策略，开始有了收降汉人做奴隶的政策，而不再一味搞大屠杀。永嘉六年（公元312年），石勒根据汉人张宾的建议，定都襄国（今河北省邢台市）。中原农业经济得到一点恢复。在南方石勒长期与
祖逖将军作战．祖将军死后，没人能有效的组织北方各堡与胡人对抗。公元320年前后，屈指可数的几个保壁大帅也最后降石赵，石赵王朝完成了对中原和关中的牢固统治。
到公元349年，冉闵屠胡之前，迁居中原的胡人高达五六百万之多，数量上相当惊人，他们是在东汉、魏、晋、石赵四个朝代因各种原因迁到中原地区来的胡人。有被当时政府强迁进来的，有主动迁进来的，有武装打进来的。晋朝统治时期，在“南达长江，北到燕辽，西起关陇，东至东海”的广阔区域，不断的有各胡酋占山为王，扰乱地方。但大都不敢公开反对东晋的统治，为害的区域只是个别郡县，不对晋朝统治集团构成威胁。直到匈奴人刘渊和羯族人汲桑石勒等的出现，匈奴、羯人合流，胡人铁骑横扫了整个黄河流域，建立后赵。
后赵统治北方时，当时的汉人不超过500万左右，胡人却与这个数相当甚至高于这个数。胡人人口还在增长，而汉人不断减少。《晋书》：“方今四海有倒悬之急，中夏逋僭逆之寇，家有漉血之怨，人有复仇之憾！”以冉闵为首的汉族人们对入塞胡族的复仇行动，是汉人发起的绝地反击。入塞胡族成份复杂：像羯族、白奴族、丁零族、铁弗族、卢水胡、鲜卑（史书称白虏，也有学者认为黄种人）、九大石胡的远迁部落等主体都是金发碧眼的白种人。氐族包括大月氐、小月氐和巴氐。大月氐主体为白种人，小月氐和巴氐主要为黄种人。 而羌、夫余、乌桓（东胡与匈奴混血）、和入侵辽宁的高句丽等民族主体为黄种人，个别部落除外。
如果等他们杀尽了北方汉人，在中原地区繁殖起来。会成为一个金发碧眼的种族（根据现在鲜卑后代千分之几白人血统都成显性基因的特征），会再向南方要生存空间，再把南方的三百万人杀掉，或大部份杀光，小部分汉族被融入新的种族。而不是其它各胡基本上被杀绝，仅占北方汉人人口百分之几不到的胡人融入北方汉族。汉族像其它三大古国的民族一样亡族是很可能的。
公元350年前后，冉闵歼灭数十万后赵胡军，推翻后赵王朝，致书各地，号召汉人起来杀胡人复仇，史载全国各地：所在承闵书诛之。当时河北、山西、山东、河南、安徽、江苏、湖北北部、陕西的汉人都纷纷起兵，仅邺都一地被杀的胡人就高达20几万（甚至远在陇西的麻秋收到冉闵的“讨胡檄文”后，都杀掉所部胡人响应，因为陇西胡人太多，呆不住脚，麻秋带领部下斩关向东出关中投靠冉闵，中途与胡人王朗干了一仗，杀朗部胡人数千，后被氐酋蒲洪捉了去。）除了向侵略者报仇外，冉闵最大的功绩还在于驱逐胡蛮数百万出中土。
《晋纪》：“自季龙末年而闵尽散仓库以树私恩。与羌胡相攻，无月不战。青、雍、幽、荆州诸氐、羌、胡、蛮数百余万，各还本土，道路交错，互相杀掠，且饥疫死亡，其能达者十有二三。”
石虎统治后期，冉闵救济饥民。冉闵推翻后赵，分兵四面出击，与各大小胡酋互攻，数百万胡人被中原人们驱逐（石虎强迁到邺城的共计几十万汉人，也有近半数在动乱中返还家乡，中途大部份被胡人所害。）氐、羌、胡蛮等各民族数百余万，返还陇西或河套等地的家乡，九大石胡甚至迁回中亚。返迁途中各不同民族的胡人相互进攻掠对方，甚至人肉相食，十个人中仅有二三人能成功回去。
冉闵使胡族大返迁，造成中原百余万胡人死亡达十之七八，这就变相的杀了百万胡人．中国历史上后来建国的十六国国家中，鲜卑除外，就是成功返回去未被灭的民族部落重新入主中原所建立。但这时胡人数量大减，民间汉人恢复增长。胡人见识了汉人血腥报复的可怕不得不向汉人寻求合作，汉人从事农耕，胡人则充军打仗。这才开始了和睦共处。五胡乱华时的少数民族往往打仗不论男女老少全族皆兵。当然往后发展精兵全由男子充当。在十六国南北朝频繁的战争中，胡族大量战死，胡族彼此之间也相互灭族。民间从事农耕的汉人不断恢复增长，北朝东西魏的战争使胡人人口枯竭．两国汉族大地主势力却强大起来，为补充兵源不足，不得不开始大量起用汉军．西凉地区的汉军得到北周起用，正是在这一时期．鲜卑国主们把公主嫁给这些汉族地主势力以拉拢他们，汉军的起用为后来杨坚灭胡和隋唐的建立创造外部条件。
如果没有冉闵的“杀胡令”，没有他号召汉人复仇，驱逐各胡出中原。以后会是什么样？首先胡人在中原繁殖上千万人口后，再把南方的汉人杀绝并不是不可能的，中国的主体民族汉族也会像另外三大古国一样被异族取代。诸胡乱中华时，北方汉人被只留下四五百万，这得主要归功于匈奴人和源于东欧高加索山到黑海草原地区的白种羯族。（这个民族有拿人头祭祀的习惯）冉闵灭后赵，歼灭30多万以羯族与匈奴为主的胡兵。冉闵后来在邺城对羯族屠杀了20几万，加上全国各省各地的复仇屠杀。羯族与匈奴在血腥的民族报复中被基本杀绝。可惜的是一支万人的羯族部族，因为向北投降鲜卑而保留下来．后来鲜卑人帮助它们杀了冉闵，鲜卑入主中原。
这支羯人在鲜卑的统治下以打仗为业。 鲜卑内战时羯酋造反，压抑久了的尔朱羯疯狂地杀着鲜卑人，差点将鲜卑灭族。在鲜卑复仇的打击下，羯人在侯景带领下跑到南方梁朝统治区，梁朝政府接纳了他们，收为雇佣军。忘恩负义的侯景确杀死了梁武帝，对江南人实施血腥的种族屠杀，使原本人口众多，千里沃土的江南变成赤地千里，尸骨遍地，杂草丛生的不毛之地（仅屠靖康城就将全城4万户约20万人杀绝），史称侯景之乱。

《资治通鉴》：“闵使尚书王简……下令城中曰：‘近日孙、刘构逆，支党服诛，良善一无预也。今日以后，与官同心者留，不同者各所任之。敕城门不复相禁。”于是赵人百里内悉入城

公元304年，正是“八王之乱”之时。幽州刺史王浚引进段氏鲜卑来对付成都王司马颖。鲜卑乘机大掠中原，抢劫了无数财富，还掳掠了数万名汉族少女。回师途中一路上大肆奸淫，同时把这些汉族少女充作军粮，宰杀烹食。走到河北易水时，吃得只剩下八千名少女了。王浚发现后，要鲜卑留下这八千名少女。鲜卑一时吃不掉，又不想放掉。于是将八千名少女全部淹死于易水。易水为之断流。
后赵开国皇帝石勒（羯族）公然明定胡人劫掠汉族士人免罚，胡人有所需，可以任意索取一般汉人的东西。同时又禁止汉人称游牧民族作胡人，而称“国人”，违者斩。他的开国汉人大臣，来朝见他时，因身上值钱东西和衣服被胡人抢了，勒问他出了什么事，大臣正在气头上，说胡人抢了他，而忘了说国人。才发觉说错了话，赶紧向石勒赔罪，勒赦免了他。可以想像一般汉人当时的处境。
由于听信巫师之言，石勒之子石虎（一说为侄，一说为与其婶所生，可能是乱伦中所生）对汉人酷虐残暴。他跟一条毒蛇一样，脑筋里只有三件事，一是淫欲，二是杀戮，三是享乐。
石勒发男女十六万，运土筑华林苑及长墙于邺北。时逢暴雨，漳水水涨，死者数万人；石虎已有多处宫殿，还不满足，又驱汉丁四十余万营洛阳、长安二宫，造成尸积原野；修林苑甲兵，五十万人造甲，十七万人造船，死亡超过三分之二；夺汉女五万入后宫肆意变态凌杀污辱之行，其间由于负妇义夫的反抗，死者不计其数;从长安——到洛阳——再到邺城，成汉的使者见到沿途树上挂满上吊自杀的人，城墙上挂满汉人人头，尸骨则被做成“尸观”，恐吓世人，数万反抗将士的尸体被弃之荒野喂兽；血腥屠杀和残酷的民族压迫，北方汉人锐减至六七百万，造成赤地千里的景象；人口的大量减少，土地的大量荒芜，傍之虎狼等野兽成群出现繁殖。石虎将邯郸（一说临漳以南）以南中原地区，数万平方公里土地划为其狩猎围场，创全人类有史以来的吉尼斯世界记录。规定汉人不得向野兽投一块石子者，否则即是“犯兽”，将处以死罪，被杀或被野兽吃掉的人不计其数，汉人的地位竟连野兽都不如；太子石邃比他爹石虎还要令人发指。如果说石虎是残暴荒淫的话，这个二十几岁的青年只能以变态来解释。在自己府上闲着无聊的时候就带着刀乱窜，碰到自己的侍女就把她的头砍下来，擦干净血放到盘子里面做成工艺品和部下观赏。最令人不可思议的是这个恶魔竟然笃信佛教，他命令他所掳掠的汉族女子做尼姑，碰到漂亮的就先和她交配，然后就把这个倒霉的尼姑身上的肉割下来和牛羊肉混着煮，还把这种食品赏赐给部将吃，让他们猜测是什么原料做的。
石宣残局
后石邃因触怒父亲石虎即被石虎灭门,改立太子石宣，石宣暗杀兄弟石韬，石虎明白了是石宣干的，就急命他进宫解释。石宣借口母亲过于悲伤，不敢前来。石虎立即派重兵包围太子府，把石宣和杨柸都捉来对质，石宣供认不讳。石虎大怒，命人把石宣关到猪圈里，将他的下巴用铁环锁起来穿到木槽上，用猪食来喂他。过了几天，石虎在邺城北门外架起柴堆，命令石韬的亲属把石宣的头发连根拔掉，依照石韬死的样子割掉他的舌头，砍断他的手足，挖掉他的眼睛，然后用绳子穿过他的下巴吊在柴堆上将他烧死。石虎和石韬、石宣等的亲属几千人在旁边围观。等火熄灭了以后，石虎下令把石宣的骨灰洒在大路上供人践踏。
冉闵灭后赵政权，一次解放被掳掠的汉族女子达二十万。但后来在冉闵被俘，鲜卑慕容的军队包围邺城时大量女子被城中饥饿的士兵和百姓捕食。
冉闵被误读的真正原因
在人类的历史上还从来没有一个时期发生过这样大规模吃人的事件。同一时期在西方，是匈奴人阿提拉进攻罗马帝国，他残暴是残暴。但并没有留下他们吃人的记载。后来女真，蒙古，满族虽然也很残暴，但史书上也没有留下他们吃人的纪录。今天生活在现代社会的我们根本无法想像“五胡乱华”时期的血腥与残暴以及我们汉族先民所蒙受的苦难。这些历史我们在学校的课堂上是学不到，因为在书本上只有民族融合、鲜卑拓跋宏汉化等等，完全是报喜不报忧。对黑暗面一点也不描写。近来《狼图腾》的作者当是不掩盖这些暴行。但他又认为这样杀你吃你是为了汉族好。是给我们输血。好让我们强大起来，所以我们不应该仇恨那些食人恶魔。反而还要去感激他们。能说出这种话的人，我想他如果生活在那个血腥的年代，应该会舍身饲魔。心甘情愿地让他们吃掉。然后让那个被消化得变成什么也不知道的“我”强大起来。
中国历史界总有一些道学先生，动不动就叫嚷泱泱中华、天朝上国，要胸襟坦荡、大气容人，切不可斤斤计较、睚眦必抱，切不可小家子气，以免遭四夷耻笑。
还有一种观点：汉族人口众多，无论如何也是天然的强势，尤其是在今天。我们历来胸怀宽大，让他们一点也无妨。这些人就是典型的鲁迅先生所说的“费厄泼赖”分子。他们才是真正的民族主义分子，总爱以中华大国自居，一厢情愿的做着天朝上国的迷梦，岂不知四夷之所以降伏是因为中华的强大，每当我中华疲弱、衰落之时，它们就会像饿狼一样蜂拥而上，恨不得把我中华生吞活剥，吃个精光。
让我们揭开中国历史上最黑暗的一幕——五胡乱华时代，中国人的千年恶梦。
公元316年，司马氏篡夺曹魏建立的西晋王朝在经历八王之乱后，国力损失惨重，虚弱不堪，最终被匈奴人灭国，北方和西域各胡族势力趁天下大乱之机入侵中原，大肆的屠虐汉民，视汉人不如犬狗，史书上记载“北地沧凉，衣冠南迁，胡狄遍地，汉家子弟几欲被数屠殆尽。”
入塞胡族中，羯、白匈奴、丁零、铁弗、卢水胡、鲜卑、九大石胡等部落主体都是金发碧眼的白种人，这些来自蛮荒之域的野蛮胡族还保留着原始的食人兽性，其中以羯族，白种匈奴，鲜卑族三族最为凶恶。
在羯族建立的羯赵政权统治下，曾经建立了雄秦盛汉的汉民族已经到了灭族的边缘。到冉闵灭羯赵的时候，中原汉人大概只剩下400万（西晋总人口2000万，北方发达地区大概1200万），冉闵解放邺都后一次解救被掳掠的汉族女子就达二十万。
这些汉族女子是被羯族人当作“双脚羊”来饲养的家畜，随时随地被奸淫，也可能随时随地被宰杀烹食。有五万多少女这时虽被解放，但也无家可归，被冉闵收留。后来冉闵被慕容鲜卑击败，邺城被占。这五万名少女又全部落入食人恶魔慕容鲜卑的手中。慕容鲜卑奸淫污辱，又把这五万名刚刚脱离羯族魔爪的可怜少女充作军粮。一个冬天就吃了个干净。邺城城外这五万名少女的碎骨残骸堆成了小山……
这在今天听来令人毛骨悚然、难以置信。五胡乱华时代的中原是汉族的人间地狱，胡族的兽欲天堂。
历史前进到了这里，我们必须要详细了解一个在今天几乎不为人知的雄奇人物：五胡乱华时代的战神天王—冉闵皇帝—中国历史上最伟大的民族英雄。
西晋的“八王之乱”使西晋初年并不十分发达的经济，受到更为严重的破坏，与此同时，关东地区又爆发了罕见的蝗灾和瘟疫，史载“至于永嘉，丧乱弥甚。雍州以东，人多饥乏，更相鬻卖，奔迸流移，不可胜数。幽、并、司、冀、秦、雍六州大蝗，草木及牛马毛皆尽。又大疾疫，兼以饥馑”，“流尸满河，白骨蔽野”(《晋书·食货志》)。到西晋时期，胡人已经遍布北方各地，关中地区尤其众多。当时人江统在其著名的《徙戎论》中惊呼，“关中之人百余万口，率其多少，戎狄居半。”五胡乱华之前，北方迁入中原的胡人已高达数百万，很多地方超过了当地汉人人口。五胡乱华时期，又有大量的西北诸胡和北方的鲜卑迁入中原。
《晋纪》《晋书》记录当时永嘉丧乱，中原士族十不存一。
唐编《晋书》卷65《王导传》据说：“洛京倾覆，中州士女避乱江左者十六七。”。这就是说，南迁的人超过了半数。
留在北方的人命运很悲惨。匈奴、羯等族军队所到之处，屠城掠地千里。（如《晋阳秋》残本所称的“胡煌”石勒一次就屠杀百姓数十万，诸晋史中也有大量屠杀记录,屠杀在数个州开展）
当时“北地沧凉,衣冠南迁,胡狄遍地,汉家子弟几欲被数屠殆尽。”
残留的汉人，为了免于屠杀，纷纷筑堡自卫，与胡人对抗。但这并不意味着一些人认为的“坞堡遍地都是”，当时的北方壁堡也要相隔百里才有一个。
按鸣沙屈出土的《鸣沙石室佚书》记录：“永嘉大乱，中夏残荒。保壁大帅数不盈四十。多者不过四五千家，少者千家五百家。”
由此推测当时北方的汉人最多不过四百万左右。
大屠杀了多年之后，石勒估计也杀累了，听录了谋士要他建立“根据地”做“皇帝“的建议，改变策略，开始有了收降汉人做奴隶的政策，而不再一味搞大屠杀。永嘉六年（公元312年），石勒根据汉人张宾的建议，定都襄国。中原农业经济得到一点恢复。
在南方石勒长期与祖逖将军作战．祖将军死后，没人能有效的组织北方各堡与胡人对抗。公元320年前后，屈指可数的几个保壁大帅也最后降石赵，石赵王朝完成了对中原和关中的牢固统治。
到公元349年，冉闵屠胡之前，迁居中原的胡人高达五六百万之多，数量上相当惊人，他们是在东汉、魏、晋、石赵四个朝代因各种原因迁到中原地区来的胡人。有被当时政府强迁进来的，有主动迁进来的，有武装打进来的。
评价
遥想当年，冉闵一声令下，中原百姓和入塞胡人无月不战，日日相攻。可见冉闵当时的政策是顺应民意的，代表了最广大被侵略中原人民的意愿。并非冉闵有心挑拨，而是当时的民族矛盾确实无法调和。纵观四大文明古国：古埃及、古巴比伦文明在战乱中衰弱了；入侵印度的蛮族部落把创造古印度文明的当地人列为种姓制度中最低层的贱民当作奴隶一样的驱使至今；五胡乱华之时，当创造古中国文明的人们面对相似的窘境时，有一个冉闵站了出来，他昭告天下，邀四海豪杰奋起杀胡，号令所到，民皆响应，汉军威武，胡寇散溃，九州大地终复炎黄本色，我族免于重蹈他人覆辙，中华文明的主体得以延绵。而今斯人已远去，我们只能通过被篡改的史料来一窥这位1700年前的汉族英雄的传奇生涯。岳飞、文天祥，都是我们很熟悉的人物，冉闵对汉民族的功绩应在二人之上。山中青山岁岁青，世上繁华一千年。千年前这片土地上的民族矛盾不可调和，但时间融合了一切，今日的中国，我们是五十六个民族的和谐大家庭。但如果没有冉闵，被同化的可能就是汉族，而不是五胡。当昔日激烈的战事变为今日尘封的历史，古人的豪情荡漾在今日的心间，涌起异样而复杂的感触。
一般认为，由于历史大环境的局限，特别是当时中原地区胡汉两族力量对比的悬殊，加之冉闵的政治上的失误，因而冉闵的失败是必然的。冉闵虽然失败，但是他的屠胡令反映着汉族对胡人残酷统治的反抗情绪，同时在他的短暂统治下，兴儒学，赈饥民，打击胡人，保护汉民，这些在当时的北中国，都是难能可贵的，可谓那个黑暗岁月的一线曙光，故而当时的北方汉族人都认为看到了汉族复兴的希望：“于时翕然，方之为魏晋之初”。因而冉闵的被杀，获得北方汉族人的普遍同情，《晋书》的所谓大旱蝗灾及大雪的传说记载，实则正是对此的客观外在反映，实际上反映出当时北方汉族人民对冉闵遇害的悲痛和怀念。他的后人冉华的墓志上称冉闵为“平帝”，有学者认为这可能是冉魏政权给冉闵上的谥号。
而大多数传统学者对冉闵的屠羯作法都不赞同。从现代的角度来看，他对胡人的屠杀是很残酷的，在冉魏立国的三年中，羯人几乎被屠杀殆尽。当时汉人与胡人相互的攻杀没有一个月停止，各族人民间的仇恨达到顶点。事实上胡人对汉人的杀戮同样残酷，刘渊、石勒及石虎都曾经大量屠杀汉人，屠村屠城，因此有观点认为，以冉闵为首的汉人对胡人的屠杀，是汉人对被胡人杀戮数十年的积怨的总爆发，冉闵的死也由此得到汉人的同情。
