　　司马邺（300~317年），字彦旗，西晋第四任皇帝，西晋孝愍帝。晋武帝司马炎之孙，吴孝王司马晏之子子。在位四年，被刘汉政权的将领刘曜俘虏，后为刘汉之主刘聪杀害，终年十八岁，葬处不明。
　　过继给伯父秦王司马柬为后，为秦王，驻守长安。永嘉六年（311年），怀帝被刘汉政权虏走后，群臣拥立他为太子。建兴元年（313年）正月，怀帝被毒死的消息传来。尚书、左仆射鞠允，卫将军索琳、梁芬等人，于四月在长安扶立他为帝，改年号为建兴。但这时的皇室、世族已纷纷迁至江南，西晋王朝已经名存实亡。《晋书》记载，此时“天下崩离，长安城中户不盈百，墙宇颓毁，蒿棘成林。朝廷无车马章服，唯桑版署号而已。众唯一旅，公私有车四乘，器械多阙，运馈不继。”
　　建兴五年（316年）八月，刘曜率军围攻长安。十月，“京师饥甚，米斗金二两，人相食，死者太半。”十一月，城内粮尽，无法拒守。愍帝只得赤露左臂，口含玉壁，乘坐羊车，带着棺木，出城往刘汉军营求降，群臣围住羊车号哭，有的爬上车拉住他手臂，不让他出城。愍帝悲不自胜，又无可奈何，只好推开臣下，驱车出城投降。刘汉军将他押到平阳，封为光禄大夫、怀安侯。西晋至此宣告灭亡。
　　刘聪曾对愍帝百般羞辱。出猎时，命令他行车骑将军，全身披挂，手执长戟，作为前导。晋朝的百姓见了，围观痛哭，刘聪十分厌恶。建兴五年（316年）十二月，刘聪在光极殿宴会群臣，也象对待怀帝那样，命令愍帝穿上青衣，替大家斟酒、洗怀，甚至在自己如厕时，命令愍帝替他持伞盖。陪伴愍帝同来长安的晋朝尚书郎辛宾见皇上如此受辱，失声大哭，为刘聪所害。事后，刘聪派人杀死了愍帝，时年十八。
