吳國

壽夢（？─前561年），《世本》作孰姑，《春秋·襄公十二年》載其名為乘，去齊之子。前586年，去齊去世，他繼承了王位，吳國在此年有了紀年，而開始稱起王了。在位時間25年（前585年─前561年）。
吳國傳到
壽夢之世，國力始強，不但與中原各國時有交往，而且與楚國頻頻交戰。
壽夢有四個兒子：諸樊、餘祭、餘眛、季札。
壽夢在死時想傳位給賢德的季札，季札推讓不接受。於是
壽夢讓兒子們以兄傳弟的方式，由長子諸樊開始，依次傳給餘祭、餘昧，再傳到季札。
