楚国

　　楚熊绎，楚熊狂之子。楚熊狂生熊绎，周成王时代，成王举用文王、武王功臣的后代，于是熊绎受封为楚君，赐“子男”田地，姓芈氏，居丹阳，“俱事成王”，曾参加岐阳之会（今陕西岐山县东北），管理置茅缩酒，并与鲜卑酋长一起“守燎”。熊绎僻在荆山，“筚路蓝缕，以启山林”，以桃弧棘矢供奉周天子。熊绎子熊艾继任为楚君。
　　
　　齐国第二代君主齐丁公、卫国第二代君主卫康伯、晋国第二代君主晋侯燮和周公旦之子鲁公伯禽共事周康王。周康王分三位诸侯以珍宝之器。而同事周康王的楚熊绎却无分。春秋时代的公元前530年，楚灵王仍然提起此事。
