楚國

　　楚熊繹，楚熊狂之子。楚熊狂生熊繹，周成王時代，成王舉用文王、武王功臣的後代，於是熊繹受封為楚君，賜“子男”田地，姓芈氏，居丹陽，“俱事成王”，曾參加岐陽之會（今陝西岐山縣東北），管理置茅縮酒，並與鮮卑酋長一起“守燎”。熊繹僻在荊山，“篳路藍縷，以啓山林”，以桃弧棘矢供奉周天子。熊繹子熊艾繼任為楚君。
　　
　　齊國第二代君主齊丁公、衛國第二代君主衛康伯、晉國第二代君主晉侯燮和周公旦之子魯公伯禽共事周康王。周康王分三位諸侯以珍寶之器。而同事周康王的楚熊繹卻無分。春秋時代的公元前530年，楚靈王仍然提起此事。
