　　张轨（265年－314年），字士彦，雍州安定郡乌氏县人，晋朝时任凉州牧，是前凉政权实质上建立者，张寔、张茂皆为其子。314年去世，晋谥曰武公。至曾孙张祚时，追谥为武王，庙号太祖。
　　
　　张轨其家世孝廉，以博学著称，深得西晋朝廷中书监张华的器重。张轨历任尚书郎、太子洗马、散骑常侍。
　　
　　晋惠帝元康元年(291年)，“八王之乱”开始，各州郡大都各自为政，张轨也想占据河西之地（今甘肃西部、新疆东部一带），于是就要求回家乡为官。永宁元年(301年)，晋惠帝拜张轨为凉州刺史，治姑臧（今甘肃武威市）。张轨到任后，沿用当地有才干的凉州大姓，共同治理凉州。他劝农桑，立学校，并始终对西晋表示忠诚，以维系民心。他多次击败入侵的鲜卑部，保境安民，威震西土。晋怀帝永嘉五年(311年)，洛阳被汉赵大将刘曜攻克，随之又攻克了长安，中原和关中地区的很多百姓流入凉州，张轨在姑臧西北置武兴郡；又分西平郡（今青海西宁市）界置晋兴郡以收容流民，后又铸五株钱，流通境内，多有建树。西晋末年，各州郡都不再向西晋朝廷赋贡，惟有张轨贡献不绝。在汉赵大将王弥、刘曜进攻洛阳、长安时，张轨还数次派兵勤王，后被朝廷迁升为侍中、太尉、凉州牧、西平郡公。
