夏代
伯益，姓嬴，名益，古代嬴姓各族的祖先。皋陶之子。
原姓伊氏，字贵凯，又字虞余，相传益善于畜牧和狩猎，助禹治水有功，夏禹对舜说：“非予能成，亦大费为辅。”舜对
伯益说：“咨尔费，赞禹功，其赐尔皂游。尔后嗣将大出。”因而被禹选为继承人。《史记》记载禹死后由益继位，但四方诸侯比较属意禹之子启，于是益让位予启后隐居到箕山南麓。但据《竹书纪年》记载，禹死后由禹之子启继位，而益因与启发生争执，帝启六年，被启杀死。
相传益发明凿井技术，后来被奉为井神。这反映出远古时代的人们已经掌握这种技术，懂得利用井水解决生活用水和灌溉农田。益的儿子为嬴若木，夏启九年（中国断代工程计算为公元前2061年），被启封在徐（徐戎，今山东中南部，郯城一带）。
族谱
