熊员，楚康王之子。在位时，其叔公子围任令尹，有篡位野心。他使公子黑肱、伯州犁在郑边境修筑犨、栎、郏三城，郑人害怕。四年，公子围弑楚郏敖及其子熊慕、熊平夏而自立，是为楚灵王。
