熊挚红，是楚熊渠的次子。熊渠有三子：长子熊康（熊毋康）、次子熊红（
熊挚红）、少子执疵。熊渠立挚红为鄂王。由于长兄熊康早逝，熊渠卒后挚红成为继承人，其弟越章王执疵发动政变，弑兄代立为君，改名熊延。
