Tug of War

The "Amerasian"
splits inside her
into "Amer" and "Asian"
The former tugs westward
while the later，eastward
Unable to tell directions
she struggles hard to balance
Yet she is stretched
out of shape

The father
repents to his God
and asks for forgiveness
The mother
bribes her Buddha
for his special favor and blessings

[Lake]

这是人生所要经历的一个历程, 如能达到人生的第三境界就好了, 就圆了.

看来父母之间也存在 "Tug of War ".

是啊，第三境界对很多人来说只是个梦想， 在 "看山不是山，看水不是水" 的时候，就走完了人生道路 。。

這詩可以寫得再深入, 表面上寫她是個混血的女兒, 如同被拔河的繩子, 父母兩頭啦.
繩子的中間往哪一邊(界線)去.

父母影射兩種文化, 繩子影射在美國出生的華人.

这场拔河应该没有赢家。不管绳子中间偏往哪边都是暂时的，最终当回归 “Amerasian”。

我班上就有这么一个女孩, 被折腾的够呛.不过我相信她会最终给自己定位的.

她的母亲多次对我说, 让女儿学好中文, 是给她女儿这一辈子最大的礼物.

她母亲说的对，学好中文的确有用。

这种情况还挺普遍的，即使双亲是同一种文化，移民到不同文化的国家，孩子在成长的某个阶段也可能困惑。 以前一个同事，其父母是加拿大的意大利移民。到青春期时她已困惑得 "out of shape" ，就只身去意大利亲自体验。。。猜猜怎的，，回来一个自信的Canadian, 当然仍保持意国文化。。
