Yesterday's Melody

My soul is haunted
by yesterday's melody
An autumn leaf sheds its green outfit
and mounts up to a mountain of splendor

My soul is haunted
by yesterday‘s melody
A freshly-brewed coffee
camouflaged at the far corner
savors the bittersweet aroma

My soul is haunted
by yesterday's melody
A chirping bird flashes by and disappears
to the blue blue sky
......

When my soul is haunted
by yesterday's melody
I am the leaf,the coffee,and the bird ......

Flows well. Does the poem mean that all the best time is gone? Then set your eyes in the future.

I hear in modern poems "soul" is rarely used, unless used creatively. Smile

Thanks Lake!

A poem, I guess, is like a piece of clay. One (the writer or reader) can shape it the way he/she likes.

As for the use of "soul", it's just a personal preference. But i am glad you pointed it out. I do appreciate your comments.

Have a nice weekend.
