According to the latest 2010 "Global Cost of Living Survey", the most expensive cities in the top 10 the first time, three Asian cities, including Hong Kong, at No. 8.

The survey conducted by Mercer consulting firm, said the survey covered 214 global cities in 5 continents, over 200 projects to measure the relative costs, including housing, transport, food, clothing, household goods and entertainment. This is the world's most comprehensive cost of living survey and is used to help multinational companies and governments determine compensation allowances for expatriates.
Cost of living index in New York is used as the base city, all the other cities are compared with the city. U.S. dollar currency movements were measured. The cost of housing is often the biggest overseas presence expenditures in determining the ranking of cities play an important role when the situation.
