　　穆穆朱夫子，於道集大成。
　　嗟予亦私淑，奥义终难明。
　　退翁独何幸，而乃同乡生。
　　虽后百余载，玄机若亲承。
　　斯人幸未坠，载道来桐城。
　　平生疑惑处，喜得相考评。
　　秋风吹庭树，忽然作离声。
　　吾侪各衰老，何时重合并。
　　愿言且少住，勿充斯文盟。
　　圣贤千万语，只在知与行。
