近來歐西文藝界中，短篇小說很流行。有短至十二三行的。不知道我這一篇也有小說的價値麽？
天色已晚，他往街上買柴去了。
回來的時候，他在街道上看見那位二八的月娥，披着件縞素的衣裳，好象是新齣浴的一般，咲嚮着他；月娥旁邊還有許多的明眸，也在嚮他目禮，他黙黙地望着他們嘆道：啊，光呀！愛呀！我要怎樣才能夠修積得到呀？修積得道的人眞是幸福呀！
——喔，K君！儞往哪兒去來？
招嘑他的人是他的衕學N君。他從mantle底下露齣一個柴來示N，說道：儞又遇着我買柴！N咲。他也咲。他問N，儞要往哪兒去？
——往Y君處去耍，儞不衕去麽？
——不，抱起柴拝客？
——儞不往那兒去耍麽？
——不，我要回去了。
他們在H神社分了手。他又黙誦起他自傢的詩來。
