编辑小小的插曲:他的故事感动了来自世界上不同角落里的人,这不是偶然的成功也不是仅仅幻想出来的故事,2007年2月的某一天一个来自于日本的优秀演员 她叫上野树里 因为这本书,给她带来了精神上的抚慰也给于她一种无形的力量,旅行中导演事先约了这位她很久之前就想见到的作家,他们的相见,也许是因为相同的遭遇,他们开始聊起。希尔谈及到自己为何会写这本书,他是这样回答树里的:“其实他也从小就失去了父亲,小孩子和大人的感受是不同的,他们觉得失去了自己最爱的人时,这时会懂得了在这个世界上除了自己外,任何人都不能依赖。直到有一天他的母亲也去世了,他才把多年来积压在心里的压力释放出来,所以他决定写这本书来告诉人们生命里我们应该重视什么,对待死亡我们又该如何去面对。
他在书中告诉人们:决不要在你怨恨的时候让太阳下山。这句话的意思是说,在你睡觉前,决不能生气或敌视任何人,特别是不要敌视你所爱的人,因为你有可能今天晚上一躺下,明天早晨就再也起不来了……

作者艾利克斯・希尔向我们讲述了一个小男孩哈里因车祸去了另一个世界,正等着去天蓝色的彼岸,但他觉得自己还有很多事没做完:他想念着他的亲人、朋友、老师,他想知道没有他的日子,他们会怎么办。却又不知如何传达他的心声。直到他碰上一个叫阿瑟的幽灵,于是他跟阿瑟的幽灵偷偷溜下凡间,而哈里看到的情况却出乎他的预料:最好的朋友跟他的“死敌”一起玩,他以为他的死会让全班十分悲伤,可同学们却还和从前一样的上课,他的位置坐上了另一个人。哈里忽然意识到生活不会因他而改变,他死了,但生活还在。 当哈里来到电影院,很惊异的发现有那么多的幽灵躲藏在这里,这让他觉得难过,有那么多的人舍不得这个世界,有那么多的人还惦记着世界里面的人,但他们永远和世界隔着一道玻璃,那么清晰的看见却又那么遥远,但这一切都已经来不及了。

Alex Shearer (born 25 June 1949) is a British novelist and scriptwriter. He was born in Wick, in the north of Scotland. Alex Shearer sold his first TV script at the age of 29, after a varied career of some 30 odd jobs.
He wrote for television, film, theatre and radio (including plays and short stories for BBC Radio 4) for 14 years, and then devoted himself to becoming a novelist.
His 2003 novel The Speed of the Dark was shortlisted for the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize. The Greatest Store in the World was adapted into a television film by the BBC. His novel Bootleg was adapted for a television series by the BBC, and later adapted into manga and anime under its Japanese title Chocolate Underground.
