　　刘恒 (1954—) 原名刘冠军。北京人。曾就读于北京外国语学院附属小学及中学。1969年人伍，在海军部队服役6年。退伍后在北京汽车制造厂当装配钳工4年，1979年调北京市文联，任《北京文学》编辑。现任《北京文学》主编，北京市作家协会主席、驻会一级作家，北京市文联副主席，北京市人大常委。在2006年11月第七届全国作代会上最新当选为全国作协第七届副主席。
　　
　　1977年发表处女作《小石磨》。1986年发表小说《狗日的粮食》开始引人注目，获1985—1986全国优秀短篇小说奖。著有长篇小说《黑的雪》、《逍遥颂》、《苍河白日梦》等，中短篇小说《伏羲伏羲》、《白涡》、《虚证》、《教育诗》等，已出版小说集《虚证》、《连环套》、《白涡》等。已有五卷本《刘恒自选集》问世。2004年在“北京文学节”上获得终身成就奖。他的一些小说被改编为影视作品，如《伏羲伏羲》、《黑的雪》以及长篇小说《贫嘴张大民的幸福生活》。
