　　字謙之，一字子微，號本堂，晚年號嵩溪遺耄，鄞縣（今浙江寧波）人，寄籍奉化。理宗寶祐四年（一二五六）進士，調監饒州商稅。景定元年（一二六○），為白鷺書院山長，知安福縣。四年，除著作郎。以忤賈似道，出知嘉興縣。度宗鹹淳三年（一二六七），知嵊縣。七年，遷通判揚州，尋改臨安府簽判轉運判，擢太學博士。十年，以監察御史知臺（樊傳作合）州。宋亡，隱居四明山中。元大德元年卒，年八十四。有《本堂文集》九十四捲，各本文字多殘缺錯漏，其中詩缺二捲。事見清樊景瑞撰《宋太傅陳本堂先生傳》（見清光緒本捲首），清光緒《奉化縣志》捲二三有傳。
　　陳著詩，以清光緒四明陳氏據樊氏傢藏抄本校刻《本堂先生文集》為底本，校以影印文淵閣《四庫全書·本堂集》（簡稱四庫本）。底本詩集外之詩及新輯集外詩另編一捲。
