刘易斯·卡罗尔
劉易斯·卡羅爾（Lewis Carroll）的真名叫查爾斯·勒特威奇·道奇森（1832～1898），是一位數學家，長期在享有盛名的牛津大學任堂學院數學講師，發表了好幾本數學著作。他因有嚴重的口吃，故而不善與人交往，但他興趣廣泛，對小說、詩歌、邏輯都頗有造詣，還是一個優秀的兒童像攝影師。
《愛麗絲漫遊仙境》是卡羅爾興之所致，給友人的女兒愛麗絲所講的故事，寫下後加上自己的插圖送給了她。後來在朋友鼓勵下，卡羅爾將手稿加以修訂、擴充、
潤色後，於1865年正式出版。故事講述了一個叫愛麗絲的小女孩，在夢中追逐一隻兔子而掉進了兔子洞，開始了漫長而驚險的旅行，直到最後與撲剋牌王後、國王發生頂撞，急得大叫一聲，纔大夢醒來。這部童話以神奇的幻想，風趣的幽默，昂然的詩情，突破了西歐傳統兒童文學道德說教的刻板公式，此後被翻譯成多種文字，走遍了全世界。
Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (pronounced /ˈdɒdsən/, DOD-sən; 27 January 1832 – 14 January 1898), better known by the pseudonym Lewis Carroll (/ˈkærəl/, KA-rəl), was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican deacon and a photographer. His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass, as well as the poems "The Hunting of the Snark" and "Jabberwocky", all examples of the genre of literary nonsense. He is noted for his facility at word play, logic, and fantasy, and there are societies dedicated to the enjoyment and promotion of his works and the investigation of his life in many parts of the world, including the United Kingdom, Japan, the United States, and New Zealand.
