He has also worked for a leading Wall Street investment bank's public finance management. Ebeling graduated from Davidson College with honors degree in international relations, he also received a master's degree in public administration from Harvard University. He finished the Georgetown University Leadership Coaching Certificate course development to open this program to serve on faculty. He is a certified professional coach and is a member of the International Coaching Alliance. Ebeling and his wife and two sons live in the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC.
