崇禎五年（1632年），鉛山馬廖洋、
張普薇倡導組織“密密教”醖釀起義。南豐江義、周八聞之，前往鉛山拜師，回豐後，聚義於軍峰山下的封山。七年（1634年），江義、周八與在縣東雲石滸的邱純聯絡，秘密組織群衆積極響應。各立庵堂掌管教權，傳授“密密教”，聯合鉛山，互相呼應。十年（1637年），以
