党項  (?631年～?649年)

　　拓跋赤辭 631年—649年
　　拓跋赤辭（出生和逝世時間不明）是中國歷史上唐朝初期的一個党項族首領。拓跋赤辭被看作是後來西夏皇族的始祖。
　　
　　他的部落一開始是與吐𠔌渾有密切關係的，雙方結親。634年吐𠔌渾受到唐朝行軍大總管李靖攻擊時拓跋赤辭協助吐𠔌渾低檔，但是最後吐𠔌渾被擊敗。他改效忠唐朝，被封為西戎州都督，賜姓李，駐紮在鬆州（今天的四川鬆潘）。
　　
　　後來因為受到吐蕃的攻擊不敵，被唐朝舉族遷往慶州，今天甘肅慶陽。關於党項北遷是在拓跋赤辭生前還是生後有不同的意見。有人認為拓跋赤辭被遷往慶州後被封為右監門都督和平西公，但是也有史學家認為這是他的孫子拓跋守寂的時候。
