　　十六國南燕宗室。在職。昌黎棘城(今遼寧義縣西北)人，燕宗室，封桂林王。慕容德時，為車騎將軍。慕容超即位(405)，加開府儀衕三司、尚書令。以上書言事，被免官。太上五年(409)，東晉劉裕率軍伐燕，超乃赦免鎮，進錄尚書、都督中外諸軍事。
