　　宋真宗赵恒（968年－1022年），原名赵德昌，是北宋的第三位皇帝。他是宋太宗的第三个儿子，登基前曾被封为韩王、襄王和寿王，曾任开封府尹（首都市长）。997年以太子继位。宋真宗统治时期治理有方，北宋的统治日益坚固，国家管理日益完善，北宋比较强盛。宋真宗亦是著名谚语“书中自有黄金屋，书中自有颜如玉”的作者。
　　
　　景德元年（1004年），辽国入侵宋，宋朝大多数大臣建议不抵抗，以宰相寇准为首的少数人极力主张抵抗，最后他们说服宋真宗御驾亲征，勉强北上，双方在澶渊（今河南濮阳附近）相交，宋胜。真宗决定就此罢兵，以每年向辽纳白银十万两、绢二十万匹来换取与辽之间的和平，定澶渊之盟。这是宋朝向外族纳贡换取和平的开始。
　　
　　宋真宗统治后期以王钦若和丁谓为宰相，信奉道教和佛教，大中祥符元年（1008年）称受天书，封泰山、祀汾阳，修建了玉清昭应宫，以及许多寺庙，导致社会矛盾激化。
　　
　　宋真宗也是诗人，他比较著名的诗有《励学篇》、《劝学诗》等。
　　
　　1022年，宋真宗崩于汴京宫中延庆殿，驾崩后葬于永定陵。
