　　前蜀後主，字化源，建之子。知學問，能為浮豔詞。為後唐所滅。詩五首。
　　
　　前蜀後主王衍（899年——926年），本名王宗衍是蜀高祖王建第11子，也是幼子，母親是貴妃徐氏（小徐妃）。字化源，前蜀末代皇帝（第二代，919年——925年在位），在位7年。當初，王建的次子（皇太子）王宗懿（又名王元膺）侮辱王建寵臣唐道襲而被廢，他被立為太子。918年，王建死，他繼承了皇位，是為蜀後主。
　　
　　王衍是一個十分荒淫腐朽的皇帝，他迷戀美色，宦官王承休“多以邪僻姦穢之事媚其主，主愈寵之”，對北方小朝廷後梁、後唐的攻擊不聞不問，前蜀國勢一天不如一天。終於在鹹康元年（925年），後唐莊宗李存勖派遣大軍進攻前蜀，蜀軍潰敗，成都淪陷，王衍投降，前蜀滅亡。
　　
　　前蜀滅亡後，王衍被封為通正公。次年即926年，伶人景進嚮莊宗進言說王衍是個禍害，應當設法翦除，莊宗便用其計殺害了王衍及其親族。葬於長安縣三趙村。
