　　周元王，名姬仁(公元前?～前469年)。周敬王子。敬王死后继位。在位7年，病死。葬处不
　　明。
　　周元王姬仁继位的这一年(公元前475年)，我国历史进入了战国时期。不过也有学者把三家分晋做为战国的开端。
　　姬仁在位期间，越王勾践于攻灭吴国后，统帅大军乘胜北渡淮河，在徐(今山东省滕州南)约齐、晋、鲁、宋等国会盟。会盟后，派人给姬仁送去贡品，姬仁也回赠勾践以祭祖用的肉，册命他为伯，承认他处于诸侯的领袖地位，勾践成为一时的霸主。
　　公元前469年冬，姬仁病死。 姬仁死后的庙号为元王。
