　　周元王，名姬仁(公元前?～前469年)。周敬王子。敬王死後繼位。在位7年，病死。葬處不
　　明。
　　周元王姬仁繼位的這一年(公元前475年)，我國歷史進入了戰國時期。不過也有學者把三傢分晉做為戰國的開端。
　　姬仁在位期間，越王勾踐於攻滅吳國後，統帥大軍乘勝北渡淮河，在徐(今山東省滕州南)約齊、晉、魯、宋等國會盟。會盟後，派人給姬仁送去貢品，姬仁也回贈勾踐以祭祖用的肉，册命他為伯，承認他處於諸侯的領袖地位，勾踐成為一時的霸主。
　　公元前469年鼕，姬仁病死。 姬仁死後的廟號為元王。
