武乙，商朝國王，姓子名瞿。商王康丁之子，康丁死後於前1147年繼位，在位35年，卒於公元前1113年，死後由其子太丁（也作文丁）繼位。傳說被雷擊而死於渭水流域，一說死於戰事，葬於殷。
武乙在位時，巫教勢力極大，經常假藉天意鉗製商王的行動，
武乙便想方設法打擊巫權。有一次，他命工匠雕了一個木偶，狀貌威嚴，冠服齊整，稱作天神。他約天神和他賭博，又命令一個臣子代替木偶，作為天神來與他賭博，臣子怕

武乙推局指着木偶大笑說：“你既然是天神，怎麽會輸給我，如此不靈驗，不配稱天神。”還命令左右痛打木偶。
又有一次，
武乙命人製作了一隻皮袋，盛滿獸血，挂在樹枝上，他親自輓弓仰射，射破皮袋，獸血噴出，
武乙擲弓大笑說：“今天，天被我射了一個窟窿。”
經過種種鬥爭，終於使巫權大為降落，王權大為上升。
當時，西方的旨方和羝方聯合攻打商朝，
武乙出兵徵伐，俘虜了旨方幾千人.
後來，
武乙到黃河、渭水之間去遊獵，據說被雷擊死。一些學者認為，此說很有可能是仇恨
