沃伦·巴菲特靠向椅子的后背，长腿交叉于膝，坐在他父亲那张简朴的木桌后面。他那件价值不菲的杰尼亚上装在肩膀处束皱成一团，像一件未经剪裁、批量生产的成衣。每天，无论伯克希尔·哈撒韦总部的其他15名员工如何随意着装，他的这件衣服都会24小时保持这个样子。他穿着一件普通无奇的白衬衫，衬衣领子太小，被撑得鼓鼓的，远离领结一大截，看上去像是他当年轻商人时留下来的，而且在过去四十年他似乎都忘了量一量脖子的尺寸。
