美國賓州羅文斯坦學院的一項研究表明，布什的智商(IQ)指數為91，僅為前任剋林頓(182)的一半，是過去50年來美國總統中最低的一個。老布什衹比他略高，為98，在過去半個世紀內的12位美國總統中，衹有布什父子智商在100以下，但他卻有着極高的情商，而這實在是他製勝的法寶。無論是合作精神、領導藝術，還是個人魅力，布什都不遜色於一些傑出的領導人，尤其是在“9·11”之後，布什的一些特質充分地得到展現，並成為贏得民衆支持的關鍵。
Lowenstein University of Pennsylvania study showed that Bush's IQ (IQ) index of 91, only the former Bill Clinton (182), although in the past 50 years, one of the lowest U.S. president. Bush is only slightly higher than his, 98, 12 in the past half century U.S. presidents, only the Bushes IQ below 100, but he has a very high emotional intelligence, and that it is his success and failure. Whether the spirit of cooperation, leadership, or personal charisma, Bush is not inferior to some of the outstanding leaders, especially in the "9.11", some of Bush's character to be displayed fully, and become the key to winning public support.
