Cold high pressure warm air mass from the direction of extension of the prominent ridge of high pressure, like a wedge, inserted below the warm air mass, hence the name. If the warm air mass meet in the volume of water vapor, and up along the sliding wedge pressure, wedge pressure front will result in the rain. |
