Bimodal triangular box puffer Scientific name: tetrosomus concatenatus English name: triangular boxfish Common name: Triangle puffer Appearance: body armor with triangular ridges, dorsal and ventral edge ridge developed; dorsal ridge top with 2 small spinous, ventral edge with 1 to 4 small spinous process, often above the eye with 1 to 2 small spinous process. A light brown body, belly yellowish; caudal peduncle purple; back purple-brown; dorsal, anal and pectoral fins pale gray; purple-brown dorsal fin base; caudal fin gray, darker color front and rear ends. Habits: mainly distributed in India to the Western Pacific. Mainly inhabit reefs, sand or mud bottom offshore coastal habitat depth of 30 to 100 meters. Maximum length: 30cm. |
