學名來源：學名和譯名都是依據該鳥的特徵命名的，即這鳥的嘴特別大，其牙齒至少有6枚之意。
保存狀況：基本完整的個體，由於圍岩性質，保存基本引痕。
基本特徵：眼前這衹早期鳥類化石，一看就知道它的頭，特別是吻特別大，而且嘴裏的牙齒也很清楚，就個體說也較前幾個同一産地的鳥要大，從嘴看很象現在的常見的烏鴉，但它與烏鴉不大一樣，它是一種早期還很原始的鳥類。
