含义( meaning)→阿拉果(arago, dominique francois jean)于1786年2月26日出生在法国东部比利牛斯省的埃斯特热勒，一个具有西班牙加泰罗尼亚血统的中等地主家庭里。1806年和毕奥(bilt)一起参加远征西班牙的大地测量队。1809年被选入法兰西研究院。1820年以前，阿拉果主要研究光的偏振和折射。1820年后，阿拉果在1920年后转向电磁
学研究，以研究旋转铜盘对磁针的效应而获得了1825年的科普利奖。1850年，他拒绝向路易·波拿巴政府宣誓效忠，毅然辞去经度局的职务，但未获得批准。1853年10月2日，阿拉果在巴黎去世。他一生都执着于科学研究直到逝世，他也一直指导实验并推动科学进步。
