　　“土著”的概念，是相对于外来殖民者而言。土著人是指在殖民者从其他地方来到之前，就住在他们土地上的人民。他们的祖先在不同文化、或不同种族的人来的时候，就已居住在一个国家或一个地理区域。新来者后来通过征服、占领、殖民等手段，占有了统治地位。
