Description: Very large size (20 cm) and robust Suzaku. Mouth very long. Breeding patterns of male red eyebrow, eyebrow lines short and crimson, crimson chin to the chest, waist pink, eye pattern and color depth. Female without pink, both the upper and lower body with thick vertical lines. Range: Central Asia, northern Pakistan, northern India and northwest China.
Distribution: common resident bird, found in 3900 ~ 5700 meters above sea level. Subspecies in southern Tibet; kilianensis very west of China; sikiangensis in southwestern Sichuan and northwestern Yunnan; szetchuanus in southern Gansu and Sichuan in the north and west; longirostris Northeast Qinghai and Gansu in the north. The Palaearctic breeding birds at the highest elevation.
Habits: alpine meadows and high altitude inhabit multiple lava rock, ice and even snow line. Beating on the ground, not far from flying when frightened. Winter 3000 down to 4600 meters above sea level. |
