　　缅甸南部城市。属孟邦，在邦首府毛淡棉西北60公里。仰光通达莫塔马的铁路、公路，均由此南下。西距莫塔马湾约10公里。缅甸最古老城市之一，传说公元前六世纪孟人在此建立直通国。古代孟族文化中心，在佛教传播上尤居重要地位。中世纪以来，长期为孟族国家对南亚、东南亚和中国海上贸易的重要据点。现为一商业中心。
