物理学家是指以探索物质的组成和物质世界的运行规律（即物理学）为目的的科学家。
对于物理学分为理论物理和实验物理，物理学家也可以分为理论物理学家和实验物理学家。当然，物理学中理论和实验都是必不可缺的组成部分，所以有时候这样的分类很难界定。只不过在一个物理学家更偏重理论的情况下，他（她）被称为理论物理学家，例如阿尔伯特·爱因斯坦、史蒂芬·威廉·霍金、汤川秀树；而如果偏重实验，则称为实验物理学家，例如艾萨克·牛顿、迈克尔·法拉第、乔治·西蒙·欧姆、亨利·卡文迪许。 |

中国国家话剧院《物理学家》将在东方先锋剧场进行二轮首演，该剧由国家话剧院新锐导演王剑男执导，李建义、杜振话剧《物理学家》清、王国强、佘南南等国话优秀演员联袂加盟。据悉，《物理学家》去年首轮演出时就受到了观众一致好评；此次导演对该剧进行了新的解读，相信会再次在京城掀起一番思维风暴。
《物理学家》创作于1962年，古巴导弹危机等许多冷战大事件发生在那个年代。剧中物理学家对科学发现的追求与疑虑，在历史与现实中一次次被印证，这个戏也随着时间的推移常演常新，被搬上世界许多国家的舞台。 |
