| This in 1968 by Italian astronomer 帕奥罗梅菲 (paolo maffei) found that the two galaxies are named maffei 1 and maffei 2, collectively referred to Murphy galaxies. They are almost on the plane of the galaxy, except in the red zone and infrared spectra, almost obscured by interstellar dust. Although the two galaxies is almost in the same direction, but no relationship to each other. maffei 1 is a member of this group of galaxies, is about 1,000 kiloparsec outside a giant elliptical galaxy; maffei 2 is a disk galaxy, a distance of about 5,000 kiloparsec, probably not a member of this group of galaxies. |
