生物学名词
  抑制是大脑皮质的基本神经过程之一,是与兴奋对立的状态。其表现为兴奋的减弱或消失。在中枢神经系统内,抑制的产生,目前认为可能在两个部位:一个是突触前的轴突末梢,称为突触前抑制;另一个是突触后膜,称突触后抑制。前者是指通过某种生理机制减少了兴奋性突触的递质释放,使得神经冲动传至该突触时不容易或不能引起其突触后的神经元兴奋,从而呈现出抑制性效应。后者是由抑制性神经元引起的一种抑制。在中枢神经系统内,存在有相当数量的抑制性神经元,一般属中间神经元,其轴突末梢释放抑制性物质,与其后继的神经元构成抑制性突触。当抑制性神经元兴奋时,其末梢释放出抑制性递质,经突触间隙而使所有与它形成突触联系的突触后神经元超极化,产生抑制性突触后电位而呈现抑制。按引起条件反射抑制的原因,可分为外抑制、内抑制、超限抑制等。抑制和兴奋一样,具有重要的生理意义。通过抑制,大脑皮质的信号化活动不断地得到纠正而逐渐达到完善,使反应更加精确有效。因而抑制过程也是积极的神经过程。例如,当抑制过程在大脑皮质内引起广泛地扩散并扩散到皮质下中枢时,就可引起睡眠。睡眠具有保护性意义。
