August Nanchang Uprising Monument is located in the southern end of downtown People's Square. 1977 Uprising broke ground in the fiftieth anniversary, Jan. 8, 1979 completion. Tower is rectangular, with a total 45.5 m high. Marshal Ye Jianying, the north is inscribed, "August Nanchang Uprising Monument," child of nine copper gilt characters, embedded under the "About August Nanchang Uprising" granite monument. The other three sides are "declared the uprising," "attack enemy camp", "cheered the victory of" the three large granite relief. Tower wing walls on each side of a card, embedded with the Red Army surrounded by pine and evergreen flag emblem relief. Carved from the granite tower upright rifle and the August red flag collage composed of granite. |
