　　仙游寺，在周至县城南约17公里的黑水峪口。原为隋代仙游宫遗址，隋文帝常来此避暑。唐代咸通元年(公元860年)改为三寺，一寺废弛无存，现留二寺，分隔在黑水南北两岸。
　　南岸的为仙游寺，一般通称为南寺，明英宗正统六年(公元1441年)一度改为普缘禅寺，清朝重修，现存正殿五间，内有泥塑、铜铸和木刻佛像多尊，雕塑均极精巧。殿前后有大小不同的古塔四座，最大的为法王塔，砖砌方形，上小下大，形如锥立，高约27米，底边宽约8米，塔七层，层问有出檐斗拱。塔建于何时，无明文考查，但就形制看是唐代建筑。塔西南角有一块黑色痕迹，人们讹传为灯烟所熏，时暗时亮，称为仙游寺十景之一“宝塔放光”。
