　　陈家沟位于河南省焦作市温县城东5公里处的清风岭中段，原名常阳村。明洪武年间，山西泽州人陈卜迁至该村，因村中有一条南北走向的深沟，随陈氏人丁繁衍，该村更名陈家沟。
　　陈卜善武艺，精拳械，曾设武学社于村中，始开陈氏世代习拳舞械之风。明朝末年，陈氏第九世陈王廷，依据祖传拳术，吸取民间诸优秀拳种之精华，结合导引、吐纳术、中医经络学，创编了一种新的内功拳种，按阴阳转换之意取名太极拳。陈氏十四世陈长兴，广开传拳之门，河北永年人杨露禅即是其著名高徒。之后，陈氏太极拳逐步演变出全国有代表性的“杨、武、吴、孙”等诸大流派。
