Baiyun District
　　白云区总面积825平方千米。总人口86万人（2003年）。2005年区划调整后面积人口数据待更新。
　　区人民政府驻地邮编：510080。代码：440111。区号：020。拼音：Baiyun Qu。
　　白云区辖14个街道（松洲、景泰、同德、黄石、棠景、新市、三元里、同和、京溪、永平、均禾、金沙、石井、嘉禾）、4个镇（人和、太和、江高、钟落潭）。
历史沿革
　　1987年1月23日，国务院批准广州市郊区更名为白云区。

　　　　2001年，撤销新市、石井2个镇，设置嘉禾、石井2个街道办事处，待省政府批复后再分设6个街道办事处；撤销蚌湖镇，将蚌湖镇的行政区域并入人和镇；将雅瑶镇划给花都区管辖。实施计划为新市、石井的撤销镇设街工作2001年内完成，蚌湖和人和镇的合并、雅瑶镇划给花都区管辖的调整工作2002年上半年完成。调整后，白云区辖17个（?）街道办事处、10个镇。

　　　　2003年，根据广州市人民政府《关于撤销萝岗镇设置萝岗街道办事处的批复》(穗府函［2003］169号)和《关于授权广州经济技术开发区管辖萝岗、夏港街道办事处的通知》(穗府函［2003］87号)文件精神，2003年12月18日下午，在广州市民政局主持下，白云区与广州经济技术开发区正式签定八斗村管辖移交协议书。从2003年12月19日零时起，白云区太和镇八斗村由广州经济技术开发区管辖。
　　
　　　　2004年6月7日，撤销神山镇，将其行政区域并入江高镇；撤销龙归镇，将其行政区域并入太和镇；撤销九佛镇、竹料镇、良田镇，将其行政区域并入钟落潭镇；人和镇的现行建制保持不变。调整后的钟落潭镇共有7个居委会和51个村委会，辖区总面积为252.39平方千米，总人口近20万人。

　　2005年4月28日，国务院批准（国函35号）：将白云区的矿泉街道划归越秀区管辖；将白云区的萝岗街道，钟落潭镇的九佛、穗北2个居委会和红卫、凤尾、浦心、蟹庄、枫下、佛郎、燕塘、莲塘、山龙、重岗、黄田、何棠下、迳下、长庚14个村划归萝岗区管辖。调整前，白云区面积825平方千米，人口86万（2003年）。

　　　　2002年4月4日，贵州省人民政府批准：撤销沙文乡设立沙文镇、镇人民政府驻沙文村，所辖行政区域为原沙文乡行政区域；撤销艳山红乡设立艳山红镇、镇人民政府驻尖山路，所辖行政区域为原艳山红乡行政区域。同年7月1日，贵州省人民政府批准，撤销白云区麦架乡设立麦架镇、镇人民政府驻麦架村，所辖行政区域为原麦架乡行政区域。
