Dancing with the Wind
By Sheng Xue. Translated by Brenda Vellino
Maybe this is only a cloud
In the water
Impossible to retain, harder to push away
Maybe it is only a lone strand of smoke
In the desert, slowly
Floating, curling, separating.
Maybe it is really a floating duckweed,
Drifting, sailing far far away
Into the endless seas, disappearing
How can I keep
The sweet remnant falling
Of these roses?
Just let
it
Dance away
With the wind.

You are welcome. The English translation flows very smoothly, well done.
Floating, curling, separating
Maybe it is really a floating duckweed
Wonder if one of "floating"s can be replaced by another word?
Autumn's on its way
I'm trying to get things done
before it's too late |

Please help.
Maybe it is really a floating duckweed,
Drifting, sailing far far away
Into the endless seas, disappearing
Maybe it is really a wandering duckweed
Drifting, sailing far far away
Into the endless seas, disappraring |
