I’ve never felt more alone
I’ve never felt more alone
It is not either or--
but less or more--
lonely, we say it
as if we know it
We are drooling…
I pause, as if I pose
I suppose--
once again pondering
nothing stands still
even the path in the forest
the death bird that will do me in
is out there for me
--like a tree.
yet, you may call me a racist
I don’t like vines or mushrooms
I grow nuts, I grow falling leaves
ears lost in the wind
eyes stutter behind the shutter
as memories, reeled in
on the surface
quite quiet to each other
under beneath
intertwined, rotten together--
more or less--then I wink
