"When does a poem start
Father
It starts all
before it begins
and most likely for this one
it started before
you were born
before I was born
let's say
grand grand time ago
You see
a poem is like a pear
in your hand it starts
from the flower
out of its stem
trunk and root
and then the earth
where we all
e v e n t u a l l y
rest in peace
My son
so when you take a fruit
there appreciate a poem

A conversation between a father and son, a different way of root-seeking. I like the title, it makes me connect with "poetry". I'm not sure I understand the punctuation used at the beginning of the poem where you quote the poem but without unquote at the end. One thing I can think of is the talk continues... I maybe off the mark (no pun intended). |

An interesting poem. I don't think you need any quote. It's clear who's speaking. |

Thank you all.
Indeed, that quotation mark isn't a must, I hesitated there too.
I put it there to symbolize there is no "end quote", or "not finished" yet.
Guess it's a bit of a stretch.
Besides borrowing the word poetry, POE could also mean Point of Entry/Embarkation, well, a thought only.
时尚 or not, I don't know, but it's been there.
Happy Holiday. |
