MY COUNTRYMEN, YOU ARE ILL
A poor man I have ever been.
Billionaires I have ever seen.
Rich or poor it doesn’t matter,
The point is to have a good frame of mind.
Out in the street for a stroll
Never do I meet a light smile.
The haves worry.
The have-nots trouble.
For what?
No one could exactly tell.
Oh, my countrymen, you look ill.
Oh, my countrymen, you should be ill.
Oh, my countrymen, you must have been ill.
Oh, my countrymen, you are seriously ill.
At any times or in any state,
It may be something strange
that disappointed are the college students
and crestfallen are the youngsters.
In any period or in any area,
It should be something wrong
that there is no land for farmer
while there are no farmers on land.
At any city or in any province,
It must be something funny
the flats of the officials are vacant,
the graduates have nowhere for shelter.
At any place or in any dynasty,
Things must have gone astray
where the nobles are brilliant
while the populace down and out.
Out in the square for a walk
A true smile rarely have I caught.
Pretty or not it doesn’t matter.
The key is to have a good state of mind.
The complexions appear grave and serious.
The inner is occupied with inferiority complex
The burden in the flesh is not unbearable.
Where for them to seek salvation?
Of the faces the wrinkles are not masks.
For so many worries they worry neither.
It is safer for the sallow sorrows to cover,
It is better for the fellow marrows to cure.
