the grass pushes
through the melting snow
as the breeze blows
listening to the singing birds
I miss your spring verse
Snow
white, white again
a sky of powders sprinkles
on the black soil
a gush of emotion
bursting out
Easter Day
fresh wind flirts
this long-awaited sun
my legs race
along a gurgling creek
leaving winter behind

you won’t know
till you become a mother
the tender feeling
her eyes moistened
at her child’s first cry
a Cornell mom
whose kid and money
go to Cornell
when her kid comes back
where … the return of money
helpless on the couch
my once vigorous father
points to the flowers
that unfurl their petals
as dewdrops evaporate

a ball pen scribbles:
for better or worse –
you and me
you and
me
(minimalist)
along the wall
on the carpet, a wet stain
grows larger as winter deepens
day by day, an old heart
gradually filled with mildews
(a pairing of strophe-antistrophe components)
chirping, chirping 'loud
birds calling for their lost mate
touched by their sharp cry
the girl opened the cage and
set the wounded sparrow free
(5-7-5-7-7 formal pattern)
