山鬼 Nymph
若有人兮山之阿， She, as if there’s someone folded in the hills
被薜荔兮帶女蘿。 Ficus pumila cloaked she how dodder twills
既含睇兮又宜笑， Puffed-up air peeking she also gently grinning
子慕予兮善窈窕。 How adoring she am I dandy and slim
乘赤豹兮從文狸， Riding scarlet leopards she civets follow
辛夷車兮結桂旗。 The Magnolia wood wagon she how osmanthus flags
被石蘭兮帶杜衡， Wild orchards caped she and saruma henryi belt I wear
折芳馨兮遺所思。 Pick a flower and offer she how your missings I’ve bagged
余處幽篁兮終不見天， In bamboo grove she I see not skies
路險難兮獨後來。 The treacherous path she how late I come alone

怨公子兮悵忘歸， How could you she in despair I stay devoted
君思我兮不得閒。 You must miss me she no time to spare
山中人兮芳杜若， In the mountina she as fragrant as Yabumyoga
飲泉兮廕松柏， Pine, cypress and creek she are shades and water
君思我兮然疑作。 Think of me she not without doubts and wonder
雷填填兮雨冥冥， Thunders cascading she the rain’s dimming
猨啾啾兮又夜鳴。 Jackanapes tweet she growl after the gloaming
